Setting the Table in Paris with L.O.N.B.
Fall has been a very special season for The Setting. During the last month, we have had exciting projects and hit new milestones with our growing team. We are very proud to share that The Setting produced our first client event in Europe as part of Paris Fashion Week for one of our most special and unique brand partners: L.O.N.B London.
Traveling in style is at the core of L.O.N.B.’s brand. Their timeless luxury leather goods are the ideal travelling companion reflecting passion and free-spiritedness. We have been working with L.O.N.B. brand founder Melissa Morris since April and were thrilled when Melissa asked us to help her organize the preview with Le Monde Beryl to provide key editor and buyers early access to her forthcoming S/S 2019 collection.
On the last week of September, we travelled to London for meetings Melissa working through key details of the event. We then traveled by train to Paris for the two-day weekend preview and subsequent install.
Upon arrival, we checked into our hotel and headed directly to one of Paris’ most coveted cafe and grocery concepts, Le Maison Plisson. We instantly fell in love with the organic curation or produce and perishables and worked that sense of ease into the menu designed by Melissa herself. The installation of the collection was designed around the Parisian apartment’s natural sense of lived in luxury. Beautiful silk flowers were designed by London’s Tuk Tuk Studio adding an air of ethereal light to the overall ambiance. The scene was set and the energy was palpable.
We had lucked out with crisp, clear skies above us as we set out for the first morning of appointments after working late the evening before to ensure everything was perfect. Stopping for coffee and fresh croissants for the morning’s appointments, we were ready for the day.
The showings took place in a beautiful private home in the 11th Arrondissement of Paris to cultivate a sense of homespun luxury.
Many guests came to see the new collection while enjoying light bites and fresh espresso or cocktails. The appointments were met with an overwhelming response from editors, tastemakers and friends of the brands, along with top editors and buyers from Wall Street Journal, GOOP, Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman.
As we took a break on the second day to walk along the river and enjoy the sunshine, we knew this was one our proudest moments to date. We are so proud of Melissa and L.O.N.B and are so excited to be joining her for what is truly a once in a lifetime experience.
