california coasting…

I just returned home from Los Angeles, my first trip since launching The Setting. While there I spent a day exploring Malibu and taking photos along the coastline of the Pacific Coast Highway…

We walked along the water and ended up at Malibu Farm – a small restaurant located on the Pier, located at the end of the Malibu Pier for lunch. The locally owned restaurant focuses on preparing simple ingredients similar to what you would find at home, paring them with the freshest, organic fish and produce California has to offer.

Sitting upstairs we had an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean and Malibu coastline to keep us busy while our food was prepared.

My boyfriend and I ordered the burrata salad, crab cakes, chicken + ricotta + bacon burger, grilled salmon and a kale salad with two iced teas. (We eat a lot!) We sat there long after our meal was finished to take in how beautiful this part of the world is and how grateful we were to be visiting. If you ever find yourself in Los Angeles and have yet to try this restaurant, it is absolutely worth the beautiful drive and brief wait.

Having grown up by the ocean in Southampton, New York, I always feel especially happy smelling sea salt and froth from waves meeting the shore. I felt temporarily at home in Malibu and on our way back to the car, I picked up a small souvenir to take home. A little memory to have of our day on the California coastline.

… until next time! x
